This is a nice example of an important early Bowman football issue, the oversized – 2 ½-by-3 3/4-inch – cards that feature colorful pasteboards of many of the legendary stars of early NFL play. Headlining are slabbed cards of three of the greatest names in the game at the time, Frank Gifford (PSA 6), Otto Graham (PSA 4) and Norm Van Brocklin (PSA 4). The offered set is an attractive essentially Very Good to Ex-Mt condition, with only a half dozen falling below the range. The condition range is a bit better than these vintage treasures are typically found in older collection, with the preponderance divided between Ex-Mt (24 percent), Excellent (21 percent) and VG-Ex (33 percent).
