The glory days of the New York Knicks from the dawn of the 1970s get the well-deserved royal treatment in this spectacular shadow box presentation of imagery and artifacts from those two cherished championship seasons. The 2 ½-inch deep shadow box is in superb, seemingly as-issued condition as created by Steiner Sports Memorabilia, which has provided an LOA signed by Chairman and CEO Brandon Steiner. A 9-by-11-inch (and nearly two inches thick) piece of the floor from Madison Square Garden is one of the headlining items and appears at the bottom of the shadow box, with gold nameplate numbering it as 168/2,500. Flanked by pristine covers of 5-by-8-inch Knicks Press Guides from the two years following the titles, there is also an official 8-by-14-inch hand-scored game account of the epic 1970 victory over the Lakers in the upper right corner; opposite that is a stunning 8-by-10-inch sepia-toned photograph of Lucas, Frazier, Reed, Phil Jackson and Bradley each holding up a single finger. A nifty telegram from New York City Major John Lindsay is atop that photo; other 5-by-7-inch photos in the shadow box include an image of Coach Red Holzman talking to his crew at a timeout and team pictures from both championship squads. On the elegant glass that covers the shadowbox are attractive paintings of basketball nets on each side plus the black-type-only reproductions of New York Daily News front pages heralding the epic events and Knicks decals top and bottom. All in all, a truly magnificent nod to what are easily the two most dramatic events in the history of the fabled franchise.
