In the 1970s during the height of his popularity as one of the biggest stars in the NFL, Wilson came out with this store-model OJ Simpson football that they described as autographed but is actually a handsome facsimile signature from the Hall of Famer that appears both on the football and on the box. Both items are present here in wonderful condition, with the box essentially Ex-Mt-plus, along with Near-Mint or better examples of the air pump and tee. The 12-inch high and 7-inch square box has red and blue printing on the white box, along with black notations that trumpet the ball’s autographed status. All elements, including the ball, appear to be essentially as-issued and problem free. While the top of the store-model box cites several OJ Simpson records and plugs the ball’s “official size, super grip grid-hide cover, deep laces for passing and the O.J. Simpson autograph,” their deeply held commitment to truth in advertising prompted them to offer the disclaimer that the ball was under inflated for shipment. You can’t get in trouble for having under-inflated footballs, can you?
