From perhaps the most prominent figure in professional pocket billiards from the postwar era comes two attractively signed clay billiard balls – one cue ball and one 8-ball – both in superlative condition. As much as any player who ever lived, Mosconi’s name came to be synonymous with the game he loved. In the shadowy world of professional pool, tabulating statistics can be problematic, but for the man who held more world titles than virtually any of his contemporaries, a long-standing record of 526 consecutive balls in a straight pool exhibition in Springfield, Ohio in 1954, pretty much does the trick. The two autographed billiard balls boast spectacular signatures from the Billiards Congress of America Hall of Famer: black marker on the lightly yellowed cue ball and an attractive silver Sharpie on the black 8-ball. Both balls come with autograph authentication certificates from James Spence Authentication.
