This is a simply stunning complete set of the fabled 1957 Topps Baseball issue, found here in a condition range that is essentially divided between Near-Mint and Near-Mint to Mint or better, with only about a dozen cards falling below Near-Mint, with the majority of those to Ex-Mt. The offered cards are exceptionally clean and present in a nearly pristine and uncirculated fashion, jostled only by centering issues, an area of traditional concern with 1957, Topps’ first production in the now-standard 2 1/2-by-3 ½-inch size. More than two dozen cards (27) have been third-party graded and slabbed, including most of the key cards and Rookies, coming in at grades that offer a nice glimpse into the wider condition range of the raw cards. Overall, the offered set is neatly divided between Near-Mint and Near-Mint to Mint grades (97 percent), with the emphasis to the upper end of the spectrum. As noted above, perhaps more than ½ of the set has the kind of centering that might typically prompt thoughts of an upgrade, though not all of those would be severe enough to dictate a formal off-center designation.
