Here are a pair of game-worn home and road jerseys from one of the most prominent and revered college football programs in the country, Ohio State, or The Ohio State, as they like to say. Both show considerable game use (nameplates removed from the back), including hit marks, and one even boasts of what looks like blood to this particular forensic examiner. We'll start with that one: a Size 52 Nike jersey in white mesh and Dureen has the appropriate Nike labeling at the collar; it is a full-length shirt with enormous red tackle twill No. 93 front and back, plus smaller versions on the shoulder pads, along with the vaunted Nike Swoosh logo on the front-left pads. Shirt has the silver, black and red screen printing on each sleeve and as noted reveals many (mostly red) hit marks, and the aforementioned suspected blood indications, most prominently on the back. The second shirt is red mesh and Dureen, and has the shortened tail extending only 4 ½ inches past the bottom of the player number – No. 81 – front and back. The Size 46 shirt has the Nike tagging at the collar and the famed Swoosh, this time in white tackle twill, on the front left pad, a couple of inches to the port side of the Ohio State embroidered patch at the “V” of the front collar. It shows some game use and just the barest whisper of fraying of some of the delicate stitching on the numbers.
