This is an incredible opportunity to pick up the elegant 1970 Topps Basketball set in a condition nothing short of remarkable, essentially Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint, with the emphasis to the upper end of the range for the oversized 2 ½-by-4 11/16-inch “Tall Boys” that so neatly present the great stars of the era. The array is missing 11 cards (numbers listed at the end of this entry) and a similar number of cards turn up here in blazing PSA slabs (nine PSA 8s and one PSA 9) that provide a nice glimpse into the broader condition range. These are striking pasteboards, with bold, vivid colors and gloss and an amazing, consistent presentation for one of the iconic issues of the era and the second-consecutive enlarged issue after Topps’ return to the basketball card business in 1969.
