Presented is a stunning example of the various colorful Star Co. basketball issues that sustained the basketball collecting arena for the interval of 1983-85 after the withdrawal of Topps and the arrival of Fleer three years later. This 1986 Court Kings set of 33 features the greatest stars of the era in cards that are Near-Mint or Near-Mint to Mint or better, and headlined by No. 18 Jordan (BGS 8), No. 3 Barkley, No. 17 Magic Johnson, No. 25 Olajuwon, No. 28 Thomas and No. 32 Wilkins. The Star Co. issues bridged the gap from 1983-85 with products of singular quality, cards that were never issued in the conventional fashion in packs with gum but rather were sold in individual team or subset sealed bags through card dealers across the country. It didn't hurt that the company’s tenure coincided with the exploding popularity of Michael Jordan, quickly becoming the biggest star in the history of the NBA and beyond.
