This was the first of three consecutive Johnston Cookies regional issues featuring the newly installed Milwaukee Braves, fresh from a transfer from Boston to the Midwest as the major leagues began an expansion that would ultimately bring franchises to the West Coast. The Johnston Cookies cards – 2 9/16-by-3 5/8 inches – typically suffer from condition issues having been inserted in boxes of cookies, making this high-grade example particularly appealing. These are handsomely colorized black-and-white photos featuring the beloved stars from that inaugural Milwaukee franchise, including Hall of Famers Eddie Mathews and Warren Spahn, found here in a handsome Ex-Mt condition.
