Offered is a solid condition empty case from 1979 Topps Baseball, the penultimate year of Topps’ 25-year monopoly atop the baseball card arena. The empty case at one time boasted the presence of six boxes of 24 packs each that included 39 cards per pack. The box is in Very Good condition, with some of the expected wear from handling, along with in-house pen or pencil markings; comes with a 7 ½-by-3 ½-inch Topps mailing label addressing the case to the legendary Larry Fritsch in Stevens Point, Wis. That’s the kind of provenance that collectors like, linking an important Topps artifact to arguably the most prolific collector in hobby history.
