Offered is a decent condition empty case from 1980 Topps Baseball, a vintage classic that wound up being the final Topps issue as its 25-year monopoly in the baseball card business would come to an end. The empty case at one time boasted the presence of eight boxes of 24 Super Packs that sold for a whopping 59-Cents each. The box is in Very Good condition, with some slight dents and a minor corner tear, along with the expected in-house pen or pencil markings; comes with a 7 ½-by-3 ½-inch Topps mailing label addressing the case to the legendary Larry Fritsch in Stevens Point, Wis. That’s the kind of provenance that collectors like, linking an important Topps artifact to arguably the most prolific collector in hobby history.
