This black and white Adidas cleats were worn by Sam McDowell during circa 1973 season for the Yankees. The cleats show heavy use with discoloration, fading and the backs of the heels worn down. McDowell's jersey number "48" is written on the tongue in black marker and McDowell has signed both cleats in silver Sharpie, adding "1973 Game Used" under his signature. There is a photo from Neil Leifer/Sports Illustrated on Getty Images from 6/23/1973 that matches the cleats to McDowell. Also included are a pair of navy blue stirrups, with one signed by McDowell, also adding "Game Used 1973."
