From the granddaddy of all baseball card issues comes this T206 White Border Fred Clarke Portrait card, one of many key cards from the legendary set, found here in a PSA 3 (mc) holder, a condition somewhat better than these cards are typically encountered in mature collections. The card presents in outstanding fashion, with an imposing portrait image of the great Hall of Famer whose career spanned the 18th and 19th centuries set against a vivid, blood-red background. One of two Clarke varieties in the fabled issue, this example has perhaps 65/35 centering right to left and miscut to the bottom, with attractive white borders and a Piedmont 150 back with only light staining and toning, along with being off center to the right.
