Here is an imposing Fred Clarke card from a truly elegant turn-of-century tobacco issue, the alarming condition-sensitive T205 Gold Borders with gold-leaf, full-bleed card fronts that so readily reveal even the slightest nicks to the gold accents. Adding to the uniqueness of the issue, the set boasts three different designs, customized for the American and National Leagues and a third, even more ornate and intricate, for the one dozen minor leaguers. The card of the legendary Hall of Famer Fred Clarke is one of the important cards in the issue, found here in a PSA 2.5 holder, a condition somewhat better than how these classic cards are typically encountered in mature collections. The card is outstanding, with just a whisper of the anticipated chipping to the corners on the front, with centering perhaps 70/30 right to left and a solid card back, with light staining and crisp blue printing on the Piedmont back that is off center to the right.
