Offered is a Miller Huggins card from a truly elegant turn-of-century tobacco issue, the alarming condition-sensitive T205 Gold Borders with gold-leaf, full-bleed card fronts that so readily reveal even the slightest nicks to the gold accents. Adding to the uniqueness of the issue, the set boasts three different designs, customized for the American and National Leagues and a third, even more ornate and intricate, for the one dozen minor leaguers. Presented is an important card of the legendary Hall of Fame manager Huggins, pictured here as the second baseman for the Cardinals in a PSA 1 (mk) holder. The card reveals some of the expected chipping to the gold borders and boasting a particularly vivid orange background, with 65/35 centering left to right and a Piedmont Cigarettes card back with dramatic paper loss, light staining and off center to the left and bottom, in addition to a small pencil “28” written in the upper left-hand corner.
