Offered is a Zach Wheat card from a truly elegant turn-of-century tobacco issue, the alarming condition-sensitive T205 Gold Borders with gold-leaf, full-bleed card fronts that so readily reveal even the slightest nicks to the gold accents. Adding to the uniqueness of the issue, the set boasts three different designs, customized for the American and National Leagues and a third, even more ornate and intricate, for the one dozen minor leaguers. Presented is an important card of the legendary Hall of Famer Wheat, perhaps one of the more underrated stars of his era. An important card with a luminous orange background, it’s found here in a PSA 1 holder. The card reveals some chipping to the rounded corners, and a Sweet Caporal Cigarettes back with staining and significant paper loss.
