Here’s an outstanding example of a key card of William McKechnie from the elegant 1912 T207 Brown Border issue, a unique design of a kind of somber-brown motif that followed several years of colorful tobacco sets that rank among the most important in hobby history. The offered card is in a PSA 1 holder, with decent centering, some creasing and a just a whisper of the ubiquitous “crackling” that often confronts this high-gloss issue, along with some modest paper loss; the Recruit Little Cigars back is very presentable with some staining and toning, creating a decent presentation of the biography and statistics of the great Hall of Fame skipper.
