Here’s an attractive example of the key John McGraw card from the elegant 1912 T207 Brown Border issue, a unique design of a kind of somber-brown motif that followed several years of colorful tobacco sets that rank among the most important in hobby history. The offered card is in a PSA 2 holder, a condition fairly typical of how these classic cards are usually encountered in mature collections. The silver-bordered card has a just a whisper of the ubiquitous “crackling” that often confronts this high-gloss issue, off center to the right with some wear to the silver corners; the Recruit Little Cigars back is presentable with some staining and toning, creating a decent presentation of the biography and statistics of the legendary Hall of Fame skipper.
