Presented is a popular Hughie Jennings card from one of the truly difficult early tobacco issues, the 1914 T213 Coupon Cigarettes Type 2 offering that looks for all the world like T206 cards but is markedly rarer. The fact that the cards were produced and distributed almost exclusively in Louisiana only adds to their cachet. There are two variations of Jennings cards in the issue, including this One Hand Showing example that is found in an SGC Authentic (Evidence of Trim) holder. The card has decent centering and rounded corners, along with staining and an erratic cut on two sides; the pastel yellow background color showcases the Jennings image, and the “Jennings, Detroit” typeface in blue is distinct and differentiates it from its T206 counterparts. The Coupon Cigarettes back reveals significant staining that affects perhaps 50 percent of the surface, with paper loss touching another 10 percent.
