Presented is a key Joe Kelley card from one of the difficult early tobacco issues, the 1914 T213 Coupon Cigarettes Type 2 offering that mimics the images of T206 cards but is markedly rarer. The fact that the cards were produced and distributed almost exclusively in Louisiana only adds to their cachet. This is one of two variations of the Hall of Famer that were issued with that set, a Kelley New York example that is found in an SGC 1 holder, with rounded corners and revealing significant creasing and cracking. The blood-red background color provides one of more compelling presentations in the set and showcases the image of the Hall of Famer; the Coupon Cigarettes card back has some staining and toning.
