Offered is one of the key cards from one of the truly difficult early tobacco issues, the 1914 T213 Coupon Cigarettes set that looks like T206 cards but is markedly rarer. The fact that the cards were produced and distributed almost exclusively in Louisiana only adds to their cachet. Among an imposing roster of Hall of Famers is this Miller Huggins Type 2 – Portrait that is found here in an SGC Authentic (Altered) holder. One of two Huggins variations in the set, the offered card has some staining to the front amid the luminous orange pastel color showcasing the Portrait pose, with 65/35 centering right to left, along with an erratic cut on three sides. The “Huggins, St. Louis Nat.” typeface in blue on the card front, one of the distinctive elements that differentiates it from its T206 counterparts, is jostled by the erratic cut on the bottom and some staining. The card has been affixed to a piece of cardboard that is erratically cut on all four sides.
