Offered is one of the key cards from one of the truly difficult early tobacco issues, the 1914 T213 Coupon Cigarettes set that looks like T206 cards but is markedly rarer. The fact that the cards were produced and distributed almost exclusively in Louisiana only adds to their cachet. Among an imposing roster of Hall of Famers is this elegant Nap Lajoie Type 2 – Phila. Amer. that is found here in a PSA 1 holder and seemingly presents a bit better than its technical grade. One of three variations in the set, the Hall of Famer Lajoie is one of the keys to this issue and the offered card is outstanding, with luminous yellow and green pastel colors neatly showcasing the Lajoie batting pose, with excellent centering, along with decent card back, revealing just a wee bit of light staining and crisp black printing. The “Lajoie, Phila. Amer.” typeface in blue on the card front is outstanding and one of the distinctive elements that differentiates it from its T206 counterparts.
