Here is a key Roger Bresnahan card from one of the difficult early tobacco issues, the 1914 T213 Coupon Cigarettes offering that mimics the images of T206 cards but is markedly rarer. The fact that the cards were produced and distributed almost exclusively in Louisiana only adds to their cachet. This is one of two variations of the Hall of Famer that were issued with that set, a Bresnahan Type 2 Toledo example that is found in a PSA 1 m/c holder with a bit missing from the upper-left corner and no clear indication of anything actually being miscut. The card centering is perhaps 55/45 left to right is and outstanding top to bottom; the pastel blue and green background colors nicely set off the image of the legendary backstop, and the “Bresnahan, Toledo” typeface in blue is one of the distinctive elements that differentiates it from its T206 counterparts.
