Here's a monster that can propel you back in time four decades to the tumultuous year when Topps' Baseball set giddily reflected the curious sensibilities of the the period. A virtually mint condition box of 1972 Topps Baseball from the Fifth and Sixth Series, with 24 just-as-pristine unopened packs inside awaiting either a ceremonious opening or more likely entombment by a grading company. With a box featuring the final two series of the largest baseball card issue that Topps had ever produced to that point, the potential in these packs is truly remarkable. If somehow evenly apportioned between the two series, it could mean dozens of the difficult high numbers that remain the most coveted - and expensive - of that era, while the Fifth Series could include cards of Brooks Robinson, Pete Rose, Nolan Ryan and Al Kaline. Rod Carew winds up in the final series, along with Traded Cards of Steve Carlton, Joe Morgan and Frank Robinson, making a Fifth and Series wax box one of the great treasures in the hobby. The box is still tightly wrapped in plastic with a COA from Baseball Card Exchange.
