This is nothing short of a sensation piece, with 29 members of one of the most important ball clubs in postwar history adding blazing blue Sharpie autographs to the incredible artistic rendering done by acclaimed sports artist Paul Madden. The artist, who has produced some of the most spectacular autograph pieces offered in the hobby, was commissioned by Chase Bank to produce the piece for a card show that featured 15 members of the great Yankee ball club from 1961. All 15 of the attendees at that show have signed in spectacular fashion, some adding inscriptions of their uniform numbers or in the case of Bobby Richardson noting “’60 World Series M.V.P.” or Tony Kubek adding “Rookie of the Year 1957.” In a large white border area at the bottom of the painting, 14 additional team members have added matching blue Sharpie autographs and in some cases number inscriptions. In total, a wonderful piece that combines great art with carefully crafted signatures that creates a marvelous presentation and a genuine museum-worthy artifact. The poster itself presents in essentially Excellent condition, revealing only the kind of slight wear you might find with an autograph show item that had undergone handling from nearly three dozen individuals.
