For fans of the Detroit Tigers, it’s hard to imagine a more compelling piece than this attractive 33-by-20-inch poster representing artwork depicting renditions of 13 Detroit Tigers greats from Ty Cobb to Sparky Anderson, with strong blue Sharpie autographs added beneath the images for nine of the 13 and three autograph cuts included for three others. The players are pictured on the Detroit field that includes notations of the four fields that the club played on from 1896 to 1999. The signers on the artwork itself include: George Kell, Al Kaline, Bill Freehan, Mickey Lolich, John Hiller, Jack Morris, Alan Trammell, Kirk Gibson and Sparky Anderson; the three cuts on 3-by-5-inch index cards are Hal Newhouser, Chas. Gehringer and Hank Greenberg. Included with the lot are newspaper clippings and autograph show ticket stubs indicating the times and places when the autographs were obtained. The artwork poster presents in Ex-Mt condition but does sport one small tear along the bottom of about 1 ½ inches that only affects the white border portion of the poster and does not encroach on the painted area.
