This 34.25 inch Rawlings Big Stick was used by John Olerud during the 1998 season when he played for the Mets. The knob has his uniform number "5" written in black felt tip pen and is stamped with "433B" "JO" and "685 98". The handle is taped covering about eight inches and there is another thin piece of tape further toward the center brand to hold together a light handle crack (no missing pieces). A light coat of pine tar is visible up to the center brand, with Olerud's name and "Mets" stamped into the barrel. The bat shows nice use in the form of ball and seam marks, bat rack paint and cleat marks. Olerud's number "5" is also written in black felt tip pen on the end of the barrel.
