This 18-inch square “plaque” is another of the hundreds created by legendary hobby figure Ernie Montella, who began selling his plaques at the fabled Willow Grove hobby shows in Philadelphia in the 1980s. This plaque features an artistic rendering of a Musial portrait surrounded by representations of a dozen vintage Topps, Bowman and regional Musial cards affixed to a heavy wood board in the distinctive Montella process that leaves the finished piece with an intriguing matte finish that is seamlessly “laminated,” creating an incredible homage to the legendary St. Louis Hall of Famer.
