Here’s an old-time auction lot worthy of Saturday night at Fort Washington in the 1980s, a huge grouping of essentially as-issued coins, medallions, pins and more, a grouping as extensive as it is eclectic and begging for a good deal of careful examination. Five dozen World Series, All-Star Game and HOF Induction pins headline, which is saying a good deal in an array that includes miniature bats, a silver baseball, a World Series Bulova Watch and even a $5 poker chip autographed by the legendary Don Larsen. The breakdown below begins with the press pins, which in most instances are Near-Mint or better and often come in original jewelry boxes with felt backing or plastic cases. The breakdown - Press Pins (60) – 1985 Hall of Fame Induction featuring Brock, Slaughter, Wilhelm and Vaughan; 1987 HOF Induction featuring Dandridge, Hunter and Williams; 1988 HOF Induction featuring Stargell; 1984 All-Star Game (Giants); 1985 All-Star Game Twins (12); 1986 All-Star Game (Houston); 1987 All-Star Game Oakland (3); 1989 All-Star Game Angels (4); 1992 All-Star Game (San Diego); 1993 All-Star Game Baltimore (2); 1995 All-Star Game (Texas); 1985 Cardinals World Series; 1986 World Series; 1987 Cardinals World Series (3); 1988 Dodgers World Series (3); Padres World Series; Red Sox World Series (2); Twins World Series (2); Oakland A’s World Series; “I Love Baseball” pins (7); MLB/Japan All-Star Game (4); Dodger Stadium 30th Anniversary; New York Mets pins (2) and (4) miscellaneous pins; Memorabilia (13) (broadly Near-Mint or better, often in original packaging) – Don Larsen-signed $5 Poker Chip, 1 ½-inch in diameter, commemorating his perfect World Series game in 1956 and limited to 1,000 pieces; 1986 Louisville Slugger Commemorative 16-inch Bats with Minor League Meeting and Hollywood, Florida imprinted on the barrel; 1987 All-Star Game 3 ½-inch in diameter Silver Medallions in original wood box (mintage 300 by Chicagoland Processing); 1988 Cincinnati World Series Silver Coins (3) in 3 ½-inch wood box (mintage 300); 1989 World Series Gold Bulova Watch, with World Series logo on the watch face, with stainless steel back and leather wristband (clock is in working order), all in original packaging; unique 2 ½-lb. silver baseball (Ex-Mt) with “Old Timers Baseball Series” and “The Equitable” on a silver oval nameplate that is detached; New York Mets 1962-86 Medallions (2) presented under plexiglass; Major League Baseball Gold Tie Clasp in original box; and a 1995 All-Star Game Commemorative Coin in felt case, 1 ¾-inch coin in plastic holder from Environment.
