Here’s a handsome jersey from the legendary National League franchise from the years of greatest Los Angeles glory, the 1960s when the club won three NL pennants in a four-year span. The cotton/wool blend flannel has ragland sleeves and the seven-button front (two are missing), with famed Dodgers script in royal blue on the front and No. 24 on the back in felt and straight-stitched affixed. Possibly a Rawlings sample (one possible explanation of pedigree), it has the proper Rawlings labeling on the front (Size 44) with wash instructions below, but never had the Year or Set flap tag that would typically be found on exemplars. The shirt may also be an extra jersey lettered up for Manager Walter Alston, who wore No. 24 during the 1960s, or possibly have been used by a minor-league affiliate.
