This lot includes six game-used bats from former Houston Astros players, with most of the bats exhibiting excellent use. The list includes Eddie Taubensee, Andujar Cedeno, Kevin Bass, Bob MacDonald, Mike Simms and "Thurmond": Eddie Taubensee 34.5” Louisville Slugger model S318 dating to 1992-94 with “57” written on the knob. Grain swelling, 12” handle crack and multiple ball and stitch marks throughout the barrel. Kevin Bass 34” Cooper bat model M110 with excellent use and grain swelling on the barrel. The number “6” is written on the knob and end of the barrel indicating it was used by another player. Andujar Cedeno 34” Worth model WO42 stamped into the handle and dating to the 1990s. The bat exhibits excellent use with ball and stitch marks throughout the barrel and a 12” crack around the handle. Mike Simms 33.75” Louisville Slugger model T141 dating to 1995-96 with “23” written in gold Sharpie on the knob and end of barrel. Excellent use with ball stitch marks and handle crack. Bob MacDonald 34” Louisville Slugger model M110 dating from 1991-97 with excellent use, a heavy coat of pine tar, handle crack and custom tape at the end of the handle. The number “9” is written on the knob, which is missing a chunk, and end of the barrel. Although there is no record of MacDonald playing for the Astros, the team is engraved on the barrel and he’s pictured in an Astros cap on Baseball-Reference.com. Thurmond (unknown first name) 34” Louisville Slugger model B267 and dated 1991-97 with “24” written in black Sharpie on the knob and end of barrel. Excellent use with handle crack, ball stitch and ball transfer marks on the barrel.
