This unique lot presents a major opportunity to pick up well over 2,000 top-grade cards from 1979 and 1980 Topps football, an array literally filled with major duplication that often includes the key Hall of Famers and major stars, found in a largely unimprovable condition that bespeaks of essentially uncirculated cards. The largest grouping, from 1979 Topps, is basically Ex-Mt to Nr-Mt, an astounding accumulation in simply blazing condition and boasting the coveted “vending bend” that trumpets the presence of uncirculated material. These, and virtually all the remaining cards from 1980-90, are in super clean and consistent condition, with the keys and stars in the same high grades as the commons. In all instances where players are listed, a single card is presumed, with instances of multiples noted in parenthesis: No. 3 Payton-Campbell (4), 160 Dorsett (3), 170 Simpson (4), 198 Largent, 200 Tarkenton (6), 308 Newsom (11), 310 Lofton (2), 331 Campbell (2), 390 Campbell (2), 400 Staubach (2), 480 Payton (4), and 500 Bradshaw (6). The 1980 grouping numbers to 650 cards, and as hard as it might seem to believe, might be even a whisker better in condition than the earlier year: No. 160 Payton (2), 170 Anderson, 225 Simms, 330 Dorsett (2), Matthews (2), and 450 Largent. The remaining cards from 1981-90, are comprised of basically all Hall of Famers or stars and in a condition that is basically Near-Mint or even better. The lineup includes: 1981 (1) - No. 100 Sims; 1982 (2) – No. 434 Lawrence Taylor; 1983 (9) – No. 4 Montana, 33 McMahon, 38 Singletary, 133 Lawrence Taylor, 169 Montana (2), 294 Allen (2), and 21 Sticker Montana; 1984 (14) – No. 63 Elway, 98 Allen, 123 Marino, 280 Dickerson, 358 Montana, 13 Glossy Montana; 1985 (24) – No. 24 Dent, 33 Payton, 192 Marino/Montana, 238 Elway (2), 314 Marino, Star 6 Marino and Star 7 Montana; 1986 (7) – No. 20 Perry, and 388 Reed; 1987 (12) – No. 6 Marino, 115 Rice, 145 Everett (2), 264 Walker (2), and 296 Cunningham; 1988 (38) – No. 43 Rice (2), 190 Marino and 327 Bo Jackson (9); 1989 (13) – No. 265 Brown, 193 Marino, 70T Aikman and 83T Sanders (2); 1990 – No. 1 Montana, 1000-Yard Rice and 1000-Yard Sanders.
