This is a wonderful representation of an important nonsport issue of the mid-1950’s, a British issue featuring the great film and television stars of the day, all elegantly portrayed on a 2 5/8-3 ¾-inch card stock with striking color photos on the front and biographical information on the card backs. Legendary figures like John Wayne, Doris Day, Sophia Loren, Gene Kelly and Roy Rogers are included in this grouping, which is barely short of a complete set, missing only six cards – Nos. 30, 33, 60, 67, 70 and 72 – and including an extra card of No. 36 Janette Scott. This is a truly nice condition grouping, with the vast majority falling between Excellent to Near-Mint and a comprehensive breakdown listed below.
