This is a truly intriguing lot that features 118 different cards from the popular nonsport 1954 Topps World On Wheels issue, a really nice grouping that despite having a technically broad range of conditions presents quite nicely. Most of the 3 ¾-by-2 5/8-inch cards seem to present Excellent or even better; many of the Fair cards receive the lower technical grade because of tiny pinholes near the top or (the majority) from very light pencil writing on the back that indicated an aftermarket price. Here’s the breakdown: Excellent-Mint (13) – No. 13, 17, 26, 28, 32, 36, 53, 80, 88, 111, 113, 118 and 125; Excellent (33) – No. 8, 9, 11, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, 29, 35, 39, 41, 44, 69, 86, 91, 102, 104, 105, 106, 108, 109, 115, 116, 117, 121, 122, 123, 133, 134, 156, 177 and 180; Very Good (18) – No. 5, 7, 15, 34, 49, 68, 83, 101, 107, 110, 119, 120, 136, 137, 140, 155, 171 and 172; Good (8) – 2, 64, 67, 93, 94, 103, 128 and 145: Fair (44) – 4, 6, 10, 12, 14, 24, 25, 27, 30, 31, 33, 37, 38, 42, 43, 45, 48, 50, 51, 52, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 62, 63, 66, 70, 73, 76, 77, 78, 84, 85, 87, 90, 96, 97, 98, 99, 100, 146 and 179; Poor (1) – No. 19.
