Offered is a desirable piece of baseball history in the form of an original single seat from Yankee Stadium. This seat, bearing the stenciled seat number "6," (Mickey Mantle's number during his 1951 rookie season) was one of many saved from the wrecking ball during the stadium's renovation in 1973. The freestanding unit is all original and bears a commemorative plate on the backrest that reads "Yankee Stadium-'The House That Ruth Built'-50th Anniversary 1923-1973-Bronx, N. Y." During its decades of service, this chair has witnessed dozens of World Series games, and the finest moments of the careers of Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle, and Maris, as well as all of the other great players who have made the Yankees the greatest dynasty in the history of the game. The seat has been professionally restored and is mounted to a base.
