This is a striking assemblage of the final 65 cards of the oversized 1970-71 Topps Basketball issue, Nos. 111-175, presented here in a largely unimprovable overall condition range and with Hall of Famers and key rookies falling within the same range as the broader grouping. The cards are essentially Near-Mint to Mint, with a few Near-Mint and a remarkably consistent overall look, with particularly vivid background colors on the 2 ½-by-4 11/16-inch cards, sharp corners and good gloss. Perhaps 15 or so cards have centering issues that might prompt an upgrade, though not all would be profound enough to force a formal off-center designation. Here’s a breakdown of some of the keys and condition exceptions: 123 Maravich – Near-Mint, 130 Hawkins – Nr-Mt to Mt o/c, 135 Debusschere – Nr-Mt o/c, 137 Murphy – Nr-Mt to Mt o/c, 140 Cunningham – Nr-Mt to Mt o/c and 175 Championship – Very Good.
