Presented here is a very nice partial set from the popular 1961 Topps Baseball issue, the card set distributed in that giddy summer when the Yankees put together a super season and two its stalwarts – Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle – challenged a home run record set by Babe Ruth 34 years earlier. These are handsome Excellent to Ex-Mt cards, with the emphasis to Ex-Mt and some reaching Near-Mint status, with nice color and gloss and a fine, uniform presentation. The lineup includes seven Hall of Famers and a boatload of All-Stars, stars and Specials. About 150 cards have the kind of centering that might typically prompt an upgrade, though not all of those would be severe enough to dictate a formal off-center designation.
