Certainly one of the more unique food issue offerings of the period, the 9 ¼-by-3 3/8-inch Pepsi “cards” were designed to be inserted with cartons of soda, which explains the unusual configuration of a perforated disc at the center of a cardboard glove and tab beneath. The delicate nature of the design and the perforations make this basically Near-Mint complete set all the more appealing, with a super clean and largely pristine presentation on almost every card. Only the No. 1 Yount (tiny paper loss) and a small crease on the final card, No. 72 Luzinski jostle that designation. Difficult to imagine finding this quirky non-mainstream issue in a more impressive condition.
