With the end of World War II and the country’s regard for all things military at an all-time high, Bowman produced this vibrant Naval Victories set, with the 3 ¾-by-2 ½-inch pasteboards neatly displaying raucous, vivid color paintings of epic naval battles. This offering is in an outstanding condition, mostly Ex-Mt to Nr-Mt, with a few below and an emphasis to Ex-Mt. with a few below and the emphasis to Very Good, with the cards housed in eight-pocket sheets in a binder. About 1/3 of the group have the kind of centering that might typically prompt an upgrade, though not all of those would be severe enough to dictate a formal off-center designation; a similar number have extraneous writing on the back, in all instances a small number written in close proximity to the actual card number. These pen marks are surprisingly unobtrusive and noticeable only with a good deal of careful inspection.
