Presented is a spectacular full road uniform from the legendary Detroit Tigers lefthander Mickey Lolich, grey pullover jersey and pants from 1972, the second-best season in his illustrious career, one that was barely a whisper behind his epic 25-14 campaign from the previous year. At 22-14 and a 2.50 ERA and 250 strikeouts, he finished third in the Cy Young Award voting after narrowly missing in 1971, with his heroics helping to propel the Tigers to the East Division crown. The jersey has Detroit across the front in navy-blue and orange tackle twill, with orange, white and navy-blue elastic trim elements on the collar and sleeves. Lolich’s name appears in navy-blue letters across the back sewn directly to the jersey; his No. 29 is in orange and navy-blue tackle twill and reveals minimal fraying of the delicate stitching. The shirt shows good game use and has the appropriate Wilson Size 48 tagging at the back of the collar and the navy-blue embroidered team tagging of “48 - 72 - 1” on the front left tail. The pants have the appropriate Wilson Size 40 tagging at the waist with a “29” written by hand in dark marker across the face; an adjacent tag has “25 - 72” in navy-blue embroidery. The draw strings at the waist are intact and the paints have the orange, navy-blue and white elastic trim at the waist and striping down the legs. All elements of the lot show good game use and are seemingly as-issued and problem free. A Mickey Lolich LOA accompanies the lot.
