This handsome gamer is attributed to Dennis Kinney, a journeyman reliever who played for four teams from 1978-82. The brown knit jersey is lettered "San Diego" across the front and features Kinney’s No. 48 on the left breast and reverse. All letters and numerals are affixed in gold-on-white tackle twill, with some minimal puckering front and back and some fraying of the delicate stitching. Both the uniform number and year ("48 79") are chain-stitched in white upon a brown strip tag on the left front tail, directly below which is a "Wilson 44" label. Even with the team-executed nameplate removal (along with "San Diego" being removed on the front and replace with "Padres", which normally appeared only on home jerseys), the jersey is outstanding and displays moderate wear.
