This is a very imposing group of the classic 1936 National Chicle Fine Pen Premiums, the black-and-white, blank-backed 3 ¼-by-5 3/8-inch cards that depicted the great stars and players of the Depression Era. The array is essentially Very Good, a fairly typical presentation of how these coveted cards are found in mature collections. Here’s the breakdown, with condition anomalies included: Auker (Fair), Becher (Good), Berry (VG-Ex), Bordagaray, Bridges (2 – VG-Ex and Good), Carson, Cochrane/Foxx/Simmons, Derringer, Dressen/Myer, Crosetti Catches Dykes (Good), Dykes Safe (Fair), Gelbert (VG-Ex), Jose Gomez, Goslin, Greenberg (Good), Hack, Hale, Hallahan (Ex), Higgins, Lavagetto, McQuinn Gets Man, McQuinn Double Play, Melillo, Meyer (Good), Moore, Moore/Wilson, Newsom (Poor), Phillips (VG-Ex), Sewell/Clift (Good), Travis (VG-Ex), Walker (Ex), Wiltshere (VG-Ex), Washington Safe (Good), White Sox 1936, Ump Says No, Talking It Over (Good), and Bucher/Babcock (Poor – trimmed).
