This is a standout artifact from the WPBL, an American women’s professional basketball league that played for three seasons from 1978-81. This is a game-worn pair of pants from the Minnesota Fillies, one of three teams to play in all three of the league’s seasons. The blue knit pants come with all the appropriate team tagging, revealing game use but remain in superb condition. Kokesh Athletic Supply and a Sand-Knit tag (with “M” flag tag) and an embroidered “15” team label appear at the back of the waist. A handwritten “D.W.” in maker has been placed atop the Sand-Knit tagging. The drawstring and waist elastic are intact and in outstanding condition; a yellow flare section at each pant leg is defined by white, blue and yellow elastic trim and “Fillies” is screen-printed in blue at the center of each.
