Presented is an attractive example of an iconic football issue, the 1956 Topps set, that marked the company’s debut in making a mainstream set of the National Football League. The oversized 2 5/8-by-3 5/8-inch cards employ blazing background colors in a complete set that is almost evenly divided between grades from Near-Mint, Ex-Mt, Excellent, VG-Ex and Very Good, with more than a dozen Hall of Famers turning up in the upper three grades. It all makes for a wonderful presentation of an historic issue, one that is peppered with legendary names from the leagues pre-merger Golden Era.
