Here’s a fascinating historical artifact from the short-lived World Football League (WFL): a game-worn jersey from safety Ralph Anderson from his post-NFL time with the Chicago Winds in 1975, the league’s final year in existence. The blazing green mesh shirt has crossover V-neck and numerals and striping silk screened, with his name in the same fashion on cheesecloth nameplate on the back. Red Fox Athletic Goods labeling appears with Size L on the front tail; shirt shows light wear. Prior to his time in the WFL, Anderson played three seasons with the Steelers and Patriots in the National Football League, with six career interceptions.
