From the Cleveland Browns great quarterback from the 1970s to early 1980s comes this important game-used Browns helmet, dated to the 1978-79 season, just prior to his MVP season in 1980. The Riddell impregnated shell has wafer padding and leather XL jaw pads and facemask not present. Sipe’s No. 17 appears on either side of the striping on the back which has disengaged a bit at the bottom. Size 7 ½ appears on a sticker in the crown; includes style matching from Getty – No. 77801011 – 11/26/78. Sipe concluded a distinguished NFL career with a mark of 23,713 yards gained and 154 touchdown passes.
