Offered is a striking example of the various colorful Star Co. basketball issues that sustained the basketball collecting arena for the interval of 1983-85 after the withdrawal of Topps and the arrival of Fleer three years later. Every card in this 1986 Star Co. Michael Jordan issue is slabbed and graded by BGS, with grades averaging precisely BGS 9 Mint condition. The Star Co. issues bridged the gap from 1983-85 with products of singular quality, cards that were never issued in the conventional fashion in packs with gum but rather were sold in individual team or subset sealed bags through card dealers across the country. It didn't hurt that the company’s tenure coincided with the exploding popularity of Michael Jordan, quickly becoming the biggest star in the history of the NBA and beyond.
