Here are two sparkling autographed photos from two of the legendary Hall of Famers from the end of the last millennium, George Brett and Steve Carlton. If size matters, we’ll start with the larger example: the 23-by-34-inch Sports Illustrated poster that features an enormous color photograph of Carlton, along with a striking white facsimile signature that adorns the center of the image. Add in an attractive blazing blue Sharpie actual autograph from the Hall of Fame lefty alongside, and you’ve got yourself a winner. Dated to 1978, the poster has a Marketcom/St. Louis copyright, with notation of distribution by Crosswinds Corp. of St. Louis and a Sports Illustrated Poster designation appearing at the left bottom. There is also a photo credit to Jerry Wachter/Focus on Sports; the poster presents in Excellent condition, jostled only by a small tear of 2 inches that barely reaches the image area and some small tears at the upper left edge, none of which materially detracts from the presentation. Fellow Hall of Famer George Brett is spectacularly depicted in a seldom-seen black-and-white pose on a 12-by-16-inch full-bleed print that boasts a strong blue Sharpie autograph at the center. A tiny ½-inch tear at the top does not significant detract from the presentation of an item that would otherwise approach Ex-Mt condition.
