Presented is an attractive duo of game-worn memorabilia from Al Clark, a veteran umpire of 26 years at the major league level, 24 of those as an American Leaguer. The light blue shirt has the appropriate Hathaway labeling at the collar, along with washing instructions directly above. The embroidered American League patch is affixed to the front breast pocket and the six-button (intact) shirt appears to be in superb condition, with “Clark” handwritten in black marker atop the Hathaway labeling. The Size 7 ¼ blue cap is in similarly outstanding condition, with the embroidered “AL” in red and white stitching at the front and New Era and cap size tagging inside back. A small handmade sticker with “Al Clark” in handwritten blue ink also appears on the inside rim. Clark appeared in 3,392 games over his 26-year career, all but two as an American League umpire exclusively, appearing in two World Series, two All-Star Games and eight contests of ALCS or ALDS. He was behind the plate for Nolan Ryan’s 300th victory in 1990.
