From the legendary Dallas Cowboys Coach Tom Landry comes a handsome pair of First-Day Covers that are postmarked on the day of his induction into the club’s fabled Ring of Honor and also feature replicas of three of his 1950s Bowman football cards. The first envelope is 3 ¾-by-6 ½ inches and has a replica of his 1951 Bowman Rookie card affixed to the left side. The envelope is in Near-Mint condition, and both envelopes feature a sticker detailing “Tom Landry, Ring of Honor Induction, November 7, 1993” and the hand-printed notation #83 of 400; both envelopes have Joe Louis postage stamps and are postmarked Nov. 7, 1983. The second envelope (Ex-Mt-Plus) is larger at 4 ½-by-9 ½ inches and includes replicas of Landry’s 1954 and 1955 Bowman cards. Landry, the Cowboys’ first coach in club history, directed the team’s fortunes for 29 years, winning two Super Bowls and ending with a lifetime log of 270-178-6, the fourth-highest win total in NFL history.
